The user requirements for the new HIS system encompass several important aspects. Users (nurses, doctors, staffs) appreciate a centralized system that grants them convenient access to patient information, treatment plans, and test results. Simultaneously, doctors, often burdened with multiple responsibilities, rely on nurses to input essential information into the HIS, highlighting the need for a user-friendly interface that simplifies data entry and documentation. Furthermore, the new HIS system should feature an informative, yet modern and in-the-trend user interface.
As a UX/UI designer, I collaborate with the many business analysts (BA) to gather requirements for the new HIS system. The BAs review TOR documents while I actively participate in discussions with stakeholders to understand their workflows and desired functionalities. By working together, we ensure that the design aligns with user needs, resulting in an intuitive interface for healthcare professionals.
UX/UI designers and business analysts collaborate to review and organize over 4000 requirements from multiple hospitals and clinics. Together, they create basic wireframes for every business function of the hospital, including button details, input fields, and other necessary information. This collaborative effort ensures an intuitive and user-friendly design that meets the diverse needs of healthcare professionals.
We review the detailed wireframes with stakeholders and end-users, gathering valuable feedback to improve the design. Based on their input, we create more organized user flows and enhance the wireframes with better details. This iterative process ensures a seamless and intuitive user experience for the new HIS system. As you can see below.

As a junior UX/UI designer, I have been entrusted with various responsibilities. Initially, I was assigned the task of creating design screens for a mobile application designed specifically for patients. This application allows patients to conveniently request appointments and access PR (Public Relations) content from the hospital. I also constantly working alongside senior designers, I actively contributed to the development of a new design system for our upcoming HIS (Hospital Information System). This opportunity provided me with valuable insights and experience in creating cohesive and user-friendly interfaces tailored to the needs of healthcare staff, nurses, and doctors.
One of my current responsibilities revolves around creating the "Patient Banner" component, which plays a significant role in the detailed pages of the new HIS system. Specifically, this component is designed to provide essential patient information within pages such as the patient list of Outpatient Department (OPD) and Inpatient Department (IPD). By carefully designing the Patient Banner, I aim to ensure that crucial patient details are prominently displayed, allowing healthcare professionals to quickly access and review important information during their interactions with patients. This component contributes to an intuitive and streamlined user experience, enabling healthcare staff to efficiently navigate patient lists and effectively manage patient care within the HIS system.
In conclusion, as a junior UX/UI designer, I have taken on significant responsibilities, including designing screens for a patient-facing mobile application and contributing to the development of a new design system for the HIS. Additionally, my current focus on creating the essential "Patient Banner" component demonstrates my dedication to enhancing the usability and efficiency of the system.
It is important to note that this project is still in the middle of development, and my efforts, along with those of the entire team, will continue to shape and refine the final product. With a strong emphasis on user experience and collaboration, I am poised to deliver a modern, intuitive, and effective HIS that meets the needs of healthcare professionals.
